Converse & Convocation

Back in 2008, my friend Jessie asked me to take some photos of her for her high school grad. Due to our very busy schedules, the shoot did not take place until about four months after her graduation! This meant we could risk the dress getting dirty and made for a much more interesting (and fun) shoot! I will mentioned she styled herself :)

You may have seen the first and fifth photos on my DeviantART gallery, but I have never posted the others before.

So, here is Jessie (with a cameo from her boyfriend, Matt):

I wish I had some new photographs to post, but instead I seem to be moving back in time. I did have a shoot last Friday, and hopefully I will be able to post some of those shots next week!

That's all for this week!

London Calling

I think Wednesdays will be my "update day", seeing as a few of my posts have landed on Wednesdays.

Last summer my boyfriend and had the pleasure of visiting London, England. It was a gorgeous place! I would love to visit London again. It's actually funny looking through our photos. Since we were in the same places, we ended up with a lot of similar shots, but with different angles, composition, etc. It's very interesting to see the same subject from a different eye. You can see a few of his shots HERE!

Of over 2000 photos, these were a few of my favourites:

This was the view from my hotel room window. Gorgeous, no?

View from the London Eye!

I hope you enjoy this "snapshot" of my London trip. If you ever have the chance, I would highly recommend visiting London, not just for the beautiful sights! There are so many things to do, we didn't do nearly as much as we had hoped.

A question for my [few] readers:

Where is the one place in the world that you would visit if you got the chance, and why?

That's all for today!

Lights & Long Exposures

When most people head to an amusement park, they probably don't show up with every piece of camera equipment they own and get stopped (and searched) at the gate. Well, I did :) I actually wasn't the only one set up beside the ferris wheel with a tripod, but we were certainly out-numbered!

I played around with some longer exposures, movement, and zoom burst techniques. I had a lot of fun, and got a couple neat shots. The first one is my favourite!

[5 sec. exposure, zoom burst, and the ferris wheel moved at just the right time]

[8 sec. exposure]

[5 sec. exposure, zoom burst]

[5 sec. exposure, ferris wheel loading people; moving and stopping]

In this post on longer exposures, I thought some slow synchro flash shots were in order. This was just a random walk downtown with some of my buddies. I was just experimenting. These shots are nothing spectacular, but I thought some turned out neat, so I shall share.

I hope to experiment with some light painting in the near future! We'll see how that goes...

That's all for now!

The Sky is the Limit!

Last summer my friend, Rachelle, and I decided to experiment with a trampoline on a rather chilly (but sunny) day. Being the graceful model she is, I was able to capture some rather interesting shots.

The first thing most people ask is if I Photoshopped these. I tweak colour and such in Lightroom, but no, I did not Photoshop these. She was on a trampoline :)

It took about two hours of shooting (and bouncing on a trampoline) to get these shots! There were definitely some more I liked, but they're pretty repetitive so I thought I would pick my top four to share.

We kind of did this very spontaneously. I do want to try this concept again, so maybe you will see some more "flying" shots from me!

Welcome to inWonderland.org

After having the domain inwonderland.org for over 5 years, I figured I should do something with it. I actually designed and coded a blog for the domain, but decided against paying for hosting when this will do the job just fine.

I am hoping to use this as a place to share my photographs and inspiration, and perhaps my favourite works from other artists as well. Since I haven't done any photoshoots recently, I am going to revisit one of the most intense, time-consuming photo days I've had in a long time.

The day started at about 6:00a.m. when girls started showing up at my house to get ready for the long day ahead. We made it just outside the city for the sunrise (about 7:30a.m.) and the day did not end until almost 4:00p.m. Here are some of the photographs I took that day...

Kudos to my crew (Alana, Katelyn, Danielle, Jessica, and Matt) for keeping the energy high for almost 8.5 hours!

Hopefully now that the snow is melting there will be more photoshoots to come.

Peace out!
