Fall For Me

Well, it's not a photo dump, but it's a far cry from a well thought-out [NEW] post. I am still waiting on my Nikon D7000 (I ordered it on the 12th and they said two weeks, so I am expecting it soon). I also have three rolls of film to process. That [potentially] means more exciting posts to come! But it also means revisiting some old stuff for now...

I originally blogged photos from my day-long fall shoot HERE. It was a very long shoot, yielding over 2000 photos to sift through and sort. Needless to say, I have a lot of photos from that day and I have decided to share some more with you. I hope you don't mind.

Ladies: Alana, Katelyn, Danielle, and Jessie.
Gentleman: Matt (Jessie's boy).

Without Rhyme or Reason

I tried to be strategic, spending hours contemplating a comprehensive "theme" for this week's post. I took one, final look at all the random photos I wanted to work into several weekly posts. This wasn't going to work. I uploaded them all.

I will not deny my laziness behind a seemingly-constructive title like "Summer 2010", like I would usually do. I will admit this to be my first official photo dump on this blog. I'm sure it will not be my last.

I'm sure if there is a Blogger Bible somewhere, this type of post would be strongly discouraged. Organization is key. Therefore, I will try to resume some form of organization in my next posts. But I make no promises. When the D7000 body I ordered finally makes its way into my possession there will be a lot of random photos for me to share.

I also added my blog to Bloglovin. I have no followers yet (I doubt this will change). Well, it says I have one, but that's actually just me following my own blog because I didn't know how the damn site worked.

I don't know which is better --following blogs through Bloglovin, or with Google friend connect (through Blogger)? Should I go find all the blogs I'm following on BL instead? Ah, I'm making this too complicated.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Exploring Manitoba

Despite its rather, um, flat geographical characteristics and propensity for snow in the months of April and May, Manitoba is actually quite a nice place. There. I admitted it.

As a little tribute to the province in which I live, I decided to put together a bunch of photos I've taken at various place in Manitoba. my travels are not too extensive (yet), but this is just a little taste of the wonderful things you can find in the province. During the summer, that is. The winter? That's a whole different story --and a much chillier one...

Lightning on Lake Winnipeg

I would like to make a side note about the difficulty of photographing lightning. I sat outside in the rain for over two hours, took over 300 shots, and ended up with one that I liked --the one above!

Have you ever visited any of the prairie provinces in Canada? If so, what were some of your favourite places you visited?

Not a Morning Person

Back in April, Jessie, Jasmine and I decided that it would be a fun idea to do a sunrise photoshoot. I did a sunrise photoshoot before (some photos can be seen in my first post here), but I didn't check the weather channel before heading out this time. We woke up around 4:00am and were at location by 6:15am! It was cold, rainy, and we didn't get to shoot for that long (not to mention the fact that we were frozen and wet).

Nevertheless, I thought I would share some shots from the day:

Perhaps another sunrise photoshoot will be in order when it gets a little warmer! And a question for my [few] followers...

What is the worst you have put up with to get a good shot? Was it worth it?

I sat out in the rain for two hours, plastic bag draped over my camera, trying to photograph lightning. Out of 200 shots, 10 actually had lightning in them and only one was actually decent. Was it worth it? Maybe not, but I learned a thing or two about photographing lightning...
